New Class Under Development
The Vaughan Institute is currently considering developing a new class. The class, Risk Modeling, may begin as early as fall 2011 and will be offered only once a year.

We should have more details in time for early registration in the spring.

Mentoring Program Update
Welcome to all of the students and mentors who are participating in this year's mentoring program. If you would like to learn who is participating this year, please check out our mentoring website. Juniors, we hope you will all request a mentor next fall.

Business Insurance: Best Places to Work 2011
The Institute has several copies of Business Insurance: 2011 Best Places to Work. If you would like a copy, please stop by Viana's office, S230 PBB. There are a limited number of copies, so come early.

State of Iowa Insurance Licensing Class-Response Requested
Each spring the Vaughan Institute and the Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa offer a group study session for students interested in taking the combined Commercial and Personal Lines Property and Casualty licensing test from the State of Iowa. Students interested in careers in underwriting, claims or sales should consider this class. Although many employers will provide the opportunity for you to get licensed, your job application will float to the top of the stack if you are already licensed.

We would like a count of the number of students who think they may take this class before we make arrangements with the IIAI. Please don't wait to let us know if you are interested. If we don't have 10 or more students interested, we won't try to schedule the class.

Please email Viana before you leave on winter break if you are interested in this free study class. We typically hold it over a Friday and two Saturdays in early April.
