TCOB scholarship applications due Feb. 28
The Vaughan Institute has several scholarships that are open only to Risk Management and Insurance students. These scholarships are not need-based and anyone in the program can apply. Most are available only to U.S. residents and some are restricted to students from Iowa. To be considered, apply through Undergraduate Program from January through Feb. 28.
The Spencer Education Foundation has several scholarships that will support a Vaughan student. Check out the $5,000 scholarship supported by the Chicago RIMS chapter, the John T Lockton Memorial Scholarship ($5,000), FM Global ($5,000), XL Capital, and Liberty Mutual. Applications must be submitted by January 31.
Spring Professional Trip on Feb. 22, 2013
Mark your calendars now for the spring professional trip to TransAmerica, United Fire and TrueNorth Companies on Friday, February 22. This event is being held before the Career Fair to give you a chance to get to know the companies before spring interviews begin. At TrueNorth, we'll have lunch and listen to their annual "state of the company" address, which should be very informative. United Fire has a line-up of impressive speakers, including their CEO, Randy Ramlo. Send Viana an email if you would like to attend. Seating will be limited.

Leadership Development Program to Begin Spring 2013
Sentry Insurance has announced their 2013 Leadership Development program. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 and be graduating in May. AEGON/Transamerica Accounting and Finance Rotational Program
Transamerica/AEGON posted the announcement for an Accounting and Finance Rotational Program (job 14302) on November 28. They have two openings in the U.S. AEGON Asset Management division. The positions require a major in finance or accounting and a related internship. Search for "rotational" on the company's career website for more information.
Zurich has openings for a underwriter trainees in middle markets, accident and health, construction, construction subguard, and health care in their Chicago Office. Search their careers website for Underwriter. There are also positions posted in Overland Park (Kansas), NYC, Omaha, and Phildelphia.
Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Omaha
Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies has several openings posted on its website or various locations, including Omaha (medical bill analyst, claims assistant, underwriting specialist). They also have open positions in San Diego, San Francisco, Denver, Dallas, and Atlanta.
IMT Group, West Des Moines
The IMT Group in West Des Moines has several openings, including one for an underwriting assistant and several for field claims in Council Bluffs and Wisconsin. Apply online.
