Getting here

Air travel and ground transportation

The nearest airport to Iowa City is the Eastern Iowa Airport (code CID). Shuttles, taxis, and rental cars are available at the airport for ground transportation to the Sheraton Hotel Downtown Iowa City, about a half-hour drive (21 miles) southeast from the airport.

The shuttle companies are expecting consortium fellows and faculty, but to guarantee yourself a seat, please make reservations in advance. Uber is available in both Iowa City and at the Eastern Iowa Airport.

The Quad City International Airport is a second option for arrival (code MLI). The Quad Cities is a little more than one hour from Iowa City by car, and ground transportation is available. The Sheraton Downtown Iowa City is about 64 miles west of this airport. Again, we recommend making shuttle reservations in advance.

Finally, Chicago O’Hare (code ORD) is a three hour and 20 minute drive from Iowa City, give or take depending on traffic. It's located about 217 miles east of Iowa City. A rental car is a necessity if you fly into O'Hare.

Flights to and from Iowa City and transportation to/from the University of Iowa campus are your responsibility.

For fellows

Rooms are reserved at the Sheraton Hotel Downtown Iowa City (210 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City, IA 52240), a three-star hotel within walking distance of campus. Based on answers to our housing questionnaire, we'll assign two fellows to a room at the hotel. There are two double beds and a private bath in each room. Registration, Wednesday night dinner, and breakfast every morning will take place at the Sheraton. The meeting rooms are about a nine-minute walk from the Sheraton.

For faculty

Invited faculty may reserve their own rooms at the Sheraton Hotel Downtown Iowa City.

Book your room online using the Consortium Faculty reservations link to receive the negotiated rate.

If you wish to book by phone, call (319) 337-4058. Be sure to indicate that you're part of the PHD Consortium Faculty block. The negotiated rate includes a breakfast buffet for consortium participants.

The 2017 AMA-Sheth Doctoral Consortium would not be possible without the generous financial support provided by individual, corporate, and organizational sponsors. Their remarkable dedication to advancing marketing scholarship and academic careers is deeply appreciated.
