  • Thursday, May 2 from 5:30 - 8:30 pm (in-person): Corridor Business Journal (CBJ) Women of Influence
    • Event Description: Join the Corridor Business Journal as we celebrate the 20th annual Women of Influence with a gala awards ceremony! The Women of Influence awards recognize 10 women who have made a difference in the Corridor as role models and leaders in their fields and community and one Emerging Woman of Influence, poised to take on a larger community-wide role in the years to come.

  • Friday, April 12 from 4 - 5 pm (in-person): YPC: AI-Powering Your Career - Unlocking New Opportunities with Artificial Intelligence
    • Event Description: Participants will uncover the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an AI-driven world as the facilitator shares practical tips and strategies for integrating AI into your career trajectory.   • Tuesday, April 16 & Wednesday, April 17 (in-person): Global Insurance Symposium (GIS)
    • Event Description: The Global Insurance Symposium offers an educational and networking opportunity that brings together nearly 500 insurance and financial services company executives, national and international regulators, state and federal government representatives, entrepreneurs, and startup tech firms. Held in one of the leading global insurance hubs, Des Moines, Iowa, the Global Insurance Symposium is an opportunity for regulators, insurance professionals, and startups to discuss great content delivered by powerhouse speakers.
  • Wednesday, April 17 from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm (in-person): Iowa Healthiest State Workplace Well-being Conference
    • Event Description: The Workplace Well-being Conference is an event that welcomes executives, professionals, and leaders from organizations across Iowa, to learn best practices for supporting the physical, social and mental health of coworkers and employees.
  • Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19 (in-person and online options): Athene Black & Brown Business Summit
    • Event Description: The Athene Black & Brown Business Summit was created by national stakeholders to elevate ethnic minorities and bring BIPOC businesses together to assist with connection building, programming, promotion, training, and to provide resources to help businesses grow and prosper. The Summit is owned and operated by the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce and is supported by several key stakeholders including Athene, Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo and more.
  • Thursday, April 18 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm (online): Business Record - Fearless Focus: Financial Empowerment
    • Event Description: Wage disparities and differing policies on paid family leave continue to be systemic issues affecting women’s economic standing. On an individual level, women often feel less confident than men when it comes to budgeting, investing and planning for retirement. In this conversation, we will talk about both the systemic and individual challenges women face financially. Leaders will highlight programs, opportunities and policies that support women’s economic mobility. The panel will include Tippie Associate Professor Michele Williams.
  • Tuesday, April 23 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm (in-person): Young Professionals Connection - Navigating Your Next Career Move
    • Event Description: Are you tired of submitting countless job applications and seeing your inbox flooded with automatic rejection emails? Sick of sitting through another interview with sweaty palms and unsure what questions to ask? Well, we have some HR leaders looking to share some powerful expertise that could accelerate your career and help you land that coveted dream job!
  • Thursday, April 25 from 5:30 - 8 pm (in-person): YPC - Causes & Connections: YP Volunteer Expo
    • Event Description: Have you ever wondered, "How does volunteering make a difference?" or "I want to volunteer, but I'm not sure where?" This is the event for you! YPC & YNPN are proud to sponsor Causes & Connections to pair greater Des Moines young professionals with non-profit organizations that are actively seeking volunteers and support. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with a diverse selection of organizations on ways to get involved. Participants can also listen to a short panel discussion on the value of volunteerism and actionable tips for weaving community give back into your everyday life. Come find a volunteer opportunity that matches your interests, schedule, and abilities! Food will be provided.
