Corporate finance
The corporate finance concentration follows a specific plan of study. Included are these required courses:
- Strategic Business Consulting or Henry Fund I
- Financial Modeling & Firm Valuation
- Corporate Investment & Financing Decisions
- Financial Accounting Standards
- Putting Finance into Practice or Henry Fund II
- Corporate Financial Strategy
You'll also choose at least two finance elective courses and at least two other MBA electives, for a total of nine.
Investment management
The investment management concentration follows a specific plan of study. Included are these required courses:

- Fixed Income Securities
- Portfolio Management
- Alternative Investments & Strategies
- Putting Finance into Practice or Henry Fund II
- Financial Accounting Standards

Henry Fund
Finance concentration students can apply to be student analysts for the Henry Fund, our endowed investment portfolio. There are a limited number of analysts selected annually, and the process is competitive. Learn more about how you can become a Henry Fund analyst.

Finance students are members of the Finance Academy, led by a business and faculty director who serve as a mentor, coach, and guide to industry.

Pivot from journalist to financial analyst
The four-semester Business Acumen course showed Lisa Ferguson (MBA16) how to market her personal brand. Professors gave her a real sense of what working in finance would be like and how to prep for job interviews. And alumni helped make connections.
The result: Lisa landed her top-choice internship in investment management at Goldman Sachs in Chicago.
