Workshop: How to Get What You Really Want: From Difficult Conversations to Closing the Deal

Led by Michele Williams, Assistant Professor and the John L. Miclot Faculty Fellow in Entrepreneurship at the Tippie College of Business

You negotiate everyday—from difficult discussions with bosses, clients and subordinates to disagreements over project goals to lucrative raises and promotions. How can you walk away from these interactions with what you want while, at the same time, leaving important relationships intact? Join this hands-on workshop and take away groundbreaking, research-based tools that will help you address the real life negotiation challenges that we all face working in a diverse, global work place.

You will learn:

  • How to broaden your approach to negotiation to meet challenging situations.
  • How to identify and avoid negotiation traps.
  • How to negotiate with difficult colleagues, bosses, clients and subordinates.
  • How to effectively navigate gender bias in negotiation and help the men and women on your team do the same.
