You’ll love it here.
Our students do, and they say it’s because the Iowa MBA combines the appeal of a Big Ten school with a warm and welcoming community—inside the classroom and out on the town. But don’t take our word for it. Let us design a visit-day experience just for you.
A visit tailored for you
We’ll design a visit just for you based on your area of interest. Most visits include:
- Visiting an MBA class with your student host
- Lunch (on us!) with current students from the major you’re interested in
- Touring the business campus
- Talking with your future career academy director
- Learning how we support your job search
- Interviewing for admission (if you're ready)
Visits typically last from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and we can adjust the schedule to work for you. If you live more than 75 miles away, we’ll provide hotel accommodations the night before your visit.
We hear it time and again: "It was the campus visit. That's when I knew Iowa was my top choice."
Our visits stand apart for their deep personalization. Every itinerary is painstakingly designed to give the most informative and comfortable visit possible.
We look for student guides who share your alma mater, so you'll have plenty to talk about over lunch. We consider your work experience, area of study, and career goals when choosing the class you'll visit and which staff you'll interact with.
It's as close as you can get to the real Iowa MBA experience. Come see us, and see for yourself.
Every spring, we welcome prospective and admitted students to campus for two days of Iowa MBA information and experiences alongside future and current students. Travel cost assistance is available. Learn more about Advance Weekend.
Who should visit
Campus visits at Iowa are highly personalized. Because of the time we spend planning, and to protect your time, we review your visit request to ensure the program is the right fit for you. If the visit is a go, we’ll email you to confirm and start working on your visit.
When to visit
Monday through Thursday when classes are in session, preferably (late August to early December and late January to early May). This way you can attend class and meet our students. If those dates don’t work, contact us to schedule a time that works best for you.
Strong candidates can have their airfare and mileage reimbursed. We pay anywhere from half to 100% of costs. Usually, we need your GMAT or GRE score before we can consider your reimbursement request. When you schedule your visit, select “Request Travel Reimbursement” and complete the required fields.
You can also contact admissions to see if you qualify for reimbursement before requesting a visit.
