We support MBA job searches differently.
Companies don’t spend money traveling to campuses like they used to. But we don't put all our eggs in the on-campus recruiting basket. It’s one small piece of how we work with you on the job search, but there’s more to our strategy.

How Iowa MBAs get hired
The job search requires effort, but you won't be walking this road alone. We're your support system, and if you work hard, we'll work just as hard to help you find your dream job.
Our job-search partnership with you has several dimensions. In general, we focus on personal attention, exposure to employers, and connections with a strong network.
We grow the company roster, and keep growing
We’ve got personal relationships with a long list of organizations that hire MBAs, and we’re developing new ones every week. We understand their hiring needs, and that lets us match open positions with right-fit MBAs. The company gets great candidates and fills positions quickly. Everybody wins.
We help you become a confident interviewer
The fall MBA job fairs kick off in September, so it’s important that your interviewing skills and resume are employer-ready. The summer before you enroll, we’ll get to work making your resume sing. As soon as you land on campus, you’ll join job-search workshops and be “mock interviewed” by MBA alumni. Their direct feedback tells you what needs work, and what you’re already doing well, so you can nail the big interviews.
You won’t be alone in the job search
We walk alongside you from first interview to accepted full-time offer. We’ll meet one-on-one to hone your job-search strategy, identify target companies, and connect you to alumni and other Iowa MBA evangelists who can help you nail the interview and get hired.
You get the keys to the Iowa MBA network
Our alumni are the kind of folks that go to bat for a fellow Iowa MBA, and they’re major assets to your job search. As a student, the full breadth and depth of our network is at your fingertips. Add in the connections you’ll make through consulting projects, and you’ll experience the power of the Iowa MBA community.
Blake Ingram (MBA16) deliberately chose a program with small classes and a welcoming atmosphere.
"I could go to career services and say, ‘I’m reaching out to this employer—would I be a good fit for the culture there?'"
When considering summer internships, he met one-on-one with professors, career services and even alumni to define his ideal experience.Read Story
