Stephen Courtright earned his PhD from the Tippie College of Business and returned in 2020 after eight years at Texas A&M University to become the Henry B. Tippie Research Professor of Management and Director of Executive Education. He has done executive education and consulting for clients such as John Deere, Caterpillar, Veterans Health Administration, Halliburton, Saudi Aramco, and several others. His award-winning research has been published in top journals and featured in The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, NPR, and Forbes.

His research topics include organizational leadership, teamwork, and employee engagement. Here he talks about the Great Resignation, the phenomenon of workers quitting jobs they don’t like because the COVID-19 pandemic made them realize life is too short to work jobs they don’t like.
