Finance students will soon enjoy collaborative workstations and individual study spaces thanks to a recent gift from Philip and Nicole Hadley of Riverside, Connecticut. The Philip A. Hadley Finance Lab is set to open in fall 2019 and will be located on the second floor of the Pappajohn Business Building, overlooking the West Galleria.

“Creating a sophisticated space where the next generation of Iowa finance students can access the tools and technology they need for success felt like the perfect synergy of honoring my time at Iowa and where Iowa took me in my career,” says Philip A. Hadley (BBA84), executive chairman of FactSet Research Systems Inc.

The new lab will be accessible by key card to undergraduate finance majors and Master of Finance students. It will allow undergraduate and graduate students alike to apply their financial knowledge to experiential learning opportunities in a collaborative environment with access to the technological tools used by today’s finance professionals.

Launched in 2018, the college’s Master of Finance program allows undergraduates to enroll in graduate courses their senior year. This new undergrad-to-graduate option allows students to obtain a master’s degree just one year after achieving their bachelor’s degree and emphasizes real-world experiences, including student-managed equity and fixed income portfolios, and consulting projects for business clients.
