The #TippieWomen Summit, a half-day conference on female leadership, will feature keynote speaker Sheri Salata, Tippie alum and president of OWN-The Oprah Winfrey Network/Harpo Studios, on Saturday, April 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at hotelVetro in Iowa City.

The event is open to the public. Tickets are free for Women in Business and MBA Association members and $10 for non-members, faculty, and staff. Online registration closed at 5:00 p.m. Monday, April 13.

"This is an exciting time for women in business," said Lisa Ferguson, 2016 Tippie MBA candidate and president of the MBA Association, co-sponsor of the event. "A nationwide conversation is taking place to support female business leaders, and I am thrilled to help Tippie create a meaningful conference for business women."

The agenda and speakers include:

  • 9:00-9:30 a.m. — Welcome and comments (Sarah Fisher Gardial, Tippie dean)
  • 9:30-10:15 a.m. — Kick-off speaker (Patricia Miller, Matrix IV chief strategy officer and member of the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center Board of Advisors)
  • 10:15-10:30 a.m. — Break
  • 10:30-11:45 a.m. — Alumni panel (Shalini Campbell, BBA 2004, BMO Capital Markets; Mallory Hynes, BBA 2014, GreatAmerica Financial Services; Cindy Goody, MBA 2008, McDonald's; Peg Stessman, MBA 2012, StrategicHealthSolutions)
  • 11:45-12:00 p.m. — Break
  • 12:00-12:45 p.m. — Lunch
  • 12:45-1:30 p.m. — Keynote speaker (Sheri Salata, BBA 1980, president of OWN-The Oprah Winfrey Network/Harpo Studios)
  • 1:30-1:45 p.m. — Closing
