Ph.D. Graduate Receives Best Paper Award

Recent Tippie College graduate Andriy Norets, who received a Ph.D. in economics in May, won the 2007 Graduate Student Paper Contest at the Society for Computational Economics annual meeting in Montreal in June. His paper, Inference in Dynamic Discrete Choice Models with Serially Correlated Unobserved State Variables, received the top honor from among 22 entries. Papers must have a strong computational component, in any branch of economics, finance, and decision making. The award is funded by the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.
