New Vaughan Institute Leadership Announced
Larry Hershberger will retire as director of the Vaughan Institute on July 1. He was hired before the Institute was formed nearly 13 years ago to raise funds and help establish the RMI curriculum. Professor Thomas Berry-Stoelzle will become faculty director and Dana Ramundt will become business director (largely a volunteer role). Viana Rockel is also retiring July 29. In 2003, Viana was employed by the UI Foundation and was assigned the fundraising role for the Institute. She became associate director in 2006. The college is currently searching for an assistant director to fill her position. To learn more or apply, search for requisition #69192 on Jobs@uiowa.
New RMI Curriculum Approved
The RMI Certificate is now more accessible to all Tippie majors! The three Finance electives have been removed for all majors except Finance majors beginning Fall 2016. Now all Tippie majors may complete the RMI certificate by taking only four courses extra. Students are encouraged to begin taking RMI courses as soon as they have completed microeconomics and macroeconomics by enrolling in FIN 3400 Principles of Risk Management and Insurance.
