Technology at Tippie
Tippie prides itself on integrating the latest technology to support the teaching, research, and service missions of the college. The Stead Technology Services Group (STSG) is a professional information technology organization right here in our building, named in honor of longtime friends and supporters of the college, Jerre and Mary Joy Stead. STSG works to meet the technology needs of the college by identifying and implementing emerging technologies, and supporting instructional computing at the highest level possible. The team also ensures the services and systems it supports are secure.
Tippie students have access to specialized software, email stations, computer classrooms, and laboratories throughout the building.
Pappajohn ITC is one of the largest computer labs on campus. It is located in C220 in PBB. See hours, hardware, and availability.
Special technology features
Students and visitors alike can access financial feeds from NYSE, AMEX, NASDAQ; and find their way around the building through touch screen monitors.
Video capture and real-time video
An increasing number of Tippie facilities are now equipped with video capture and real-time video conferencing capabilities. Three of the college’s off-campus locations are connected via video-link, making it possible for the instructors to rotate between locations, while allowing the college to serve more locations in the state.
Formerly referred to as the Behavioral Lab, this classroom’s technology lets everyone connect to the same content. Faculty are able to share information across large and individual screens—perfect for research projects.
This dedicated lab provides technology and flexible spaces for students in the Business Analytics and Information Systems major. It’s the perfect setting whether you are redesigning a network or analyzing a large data set with your team.
Located in the third-floor library inside the Pappajohn Business Building, these terminals allow business students to monitor and analyze market data in real time.
A web-based room scheduling system with touch-screen display provides real-time meeting information right where you need it—outside the room. The interactive digital signage reduces meeting interruptions and eliminates scheduling conflicts.
