We've got a great record of helping our students finance their education through scholarships, grants, loans, and other forms of financial assistance. We're fortunate to have donors that are passionate about helping our students. Together we've generated more than 200 scholarships to help you pursue your degree.
Scholarships for non-first-year students
Undergraduate students (second-year and up) who are enrolled in the Tippie College of Business, or transfer students who expect to be admitted by the start of the fall semester, may apply for Tippie scholarships by submitting a single application. The application opens the first week of January and closes the last day of February. All of our scholarships and applications can be found on the Iowa Scholarship Portal. Scholarships are typically awarded near the end of the spring semester for the academic year beginning each fall. Scholarships are awarded based on a variety of criteria that could include:
- Demonstrated financial need
- Pursuit of specific majors or certificates
- Outstanding scholarship
- Membership in specific student organizations
In addition, various scholarships specify other relevant factors, including demonstrated community service or preferences for residents of certain Iowa counties. Scholarships require full-time enrollment.
Additional scholarships for full-time transfer students are awarded through the University of Iowa Office of Admissions. Some scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants without an application and some require an application or relevant academic information.
There are a limited number of scholarships for new transfer students who are planning to enroll full-time (including Online BBA students), particularly for students transferring directly from Iowa community colleges.
