About us

Tippie Students for Service work to help solve social issues that are prevalent in the Iowa City community. We focus on several social causes and our members are encouraged to start their own projects that work to solve a piece of the overlying issues. We encourage hard work, creativity, and the desire to do good for others.

How to join

Tippie Students for Service hold meetings once a month. Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned volunteering veteran, you are more than welcome to attend any event we have throughout the year. Contact us for information about our next event.

Retirement home visits

In our weekly visits with our elderly friends at Walden Place, we play board games, make crafts, and eat pie. Though at first the age gap may seem daunting, these visits bring a lot of smiles to both our students and the retirees.

TSS socials

In addition to service opportunities, Tippie Students for Service hold several social events per semester. It's a way for members to relax and have a chance to get to know each other outside of our volunteering visits.

Habitat for Humanity

Iowa City’s Habitat for Humanity is always looking for volunteers at its local Restore. Twice a month, we head over to Restore to help out with unloading, stocking, or sorting donations.
