  • Provide primary instruction in a required undergraduate core course of business communication and team building to students in the Tippie College of Business. Course section size is approximately 28 students.

  • Delivery of department-provided course material and development of own materials as needed, which adhere to departmental guidelines and learning objectives.  Maintain course management website and provide student feedback and grading in a timely manner.

These hire(s) are part of our ongoing process of building up our applied microeconomics group. Building on our existing faculty in applied microeconomics and applied econometrics, we plan on multiple hires over the next few years. Beyond outstanding scholarship, the ideal candidate(s) will play an important role in hiring new members for our applied microeconomics and applied econometrics groups, leading the applied microeconomics group, and mentoring PhD students and junior faculty. We are looking for candidates who are outstanding scholars and will interact well with the other members of these groups.

Position Details:

The Department of Accounting within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for one or more non-tenure Instructional Track Faculty Position(s) in Business Communication at the level of Assistant Professor of Instruction, Associate Professor of Instruction, or Full Professor of Instruction, starting August 21, 2024. Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. Position(s) are 100% time (teaching 8 classes/year) and include a 1-7 year contract with benefits. Appointments are renewable and contingent on satisfactory performance and availability of funding. For more information about the Instructional Faculty policy, refer to the Operations Manual, III 10.11.



In addition to teaching, faculty members are expected to participate in committee service and curriculum development.  Faculty receive grading support based on enrollments.



Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.



Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.

Position Details:

The Department of Economics within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for a non-tenure Instructional track position in Economics at the level of Lecturer, Associate Professor of Instruction, or Full Professor of Instruction starting in August 2024. Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. The position is 100% time (teaching 8 courses per year) and includes an initial three-year contract which is renewable. Responsibilities include teaching eight courses in the undergraduate program, MSBA, and MBA programs during the academic year as well as chairing our Economics Professional Development, Outreach and Engagement Committee. For more information about the Instructional Track Faculty policy, refer to the Policy Manual III 10.11.



Salary



Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Appropriate background checks (e.g., criminal background and credential checks) will be conducted.
