Salary: $80,000.00 to Commensurate

The Department of Business Analytics within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for one or more non-tenure Instructional Track Faculty Position in Business Analytics at the levels of Assistant Professor of Instruction or Practice, Associate Professor of Instruction or Practice, or Full Professor of Instruction or Practice starting August 2025. Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. Position(s) may range from 50% time (teaching 4 classes/year) to 100% time (teaching 8 classes/year) and include a 1-7 year contract, determined by rank and experience, with benefits. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and prorated based on percentage of appointment. Salaries for 100%-time faculty with undergraduate degrees and industry experience will start at $80,000, with master’s degrees at $100,000, and with PhD degrees at $110,000. The Department

Analytics is the transformation of data into insight for better decision making, and Business Analytics is the application of Analytics to Business. As the process for transforming data into insight is inherently multi-disciplinary, Business Analytics lies at the intersection of Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics (particularly Optimization), and Business.

The Department of Business Analytics (https://tippie.uiowa.edu/business-analytics) in the Tippie College of Business has been at the forefront of research in Analytics for decades and, as the recipient of the 2021 INFORMS UPS George D. Smith Prize (https://tippie.uiowa.edu/news/tippie-analytics-wins-major-international-analytics-award), was recently honored as a top department in the world for preparing students for careers in analytics.

The Department of Business Analytics offers a BBA in Business Analytics and Information Systems, an MS in Business Analytics (both part-time and full-time programs), as well as a PhD degree. Through its Tippie Analytics Cooperative, the Department is actively engaged with local, national, and Fortune 500 companies to continually enhance and improve student learning. The Department also hosts an annual international Analytics Case Competition and Women in Analytics and Leadership Conference.

Position Details:

The Department of Economics within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for one or more Faculty Positions in Economics at the levels of Associate or Full Professor with tenure starting Fall 2025. Fields to be considered include labor, health, public economics, and econometrics. For applicants in labor, health, or public economics, the focus will be on empirical research in applied microeconomics. For econometrics, both theoretical and applied research will be considered. These hire(s) are part of our ongoing process of building up our applied microeconomics and econometrics groups. Building on our existing faculty in applied microeconomics and econometrics, we plan on multiple hires over the next few years. Beyond outstanding scholarship, the ideal candidate(s) will play an important role in hiring new members for our applied microeconomics and econometrics group, leading the applied microeconomics and econometrics group, and mentoring PhD students and junior faculty. Position Details:

The Department of Economics within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for one or more Faculty Positions in Economics at the level of Assistant Professor (tenure track) starting Fall 2025. Fields to be considered include labor, health, public economics, and econometrics. For applicants in labor, health, or public economics, the focus will be on empirical research in applied microeconomics. For econometrics, both theoretical and applied research will be considered. These hire(s) are part of our ongoing process of building up our applied microeconomics and econometrics groups. Building on our existing faculty in applied microeconomics and econometrics, we plan on multiple hires over the next few years. We are looking for candidates who will be outstanding scholars and will interact well with the other members of this group.

Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Positions are 100% time with benefits. The Management & Entrepreneurship department has 16 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, including: Ken Brown, Emily Campion, Amy Colbert, Stephen Courtright, Eean Crawford, Arturs Kalnins, Amy Kristof-Brown, Beth Livingston, Jennifer Nahrgang, Daniel Newton, Greg Stewart, Yiduo Shao, Rong Su, Michele Williams, Miranda Welbourne Eleazar and Chad Van Iddekinge. The department also has outstanding clinical and visiting faculty and lecturers. The department offers undergraduate majors in Human Resource Management, Leadership and Management, and Entrepreneurial Management. In addition, the department teaches numerous classes in the Iowa MBA program and is committed to the development and mentoring of students in the department’s PhD program. The department also houses the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center and the Tippie Leadership Collaborative.

The department is known for its excellence in research, teaching, and service to the profession, as well as its supportive and engaging environment. The department currently ranks in the top 10 of management departments in productivity per faculty member. Current areas of research collaboration among faculty include artificial intelligence and the future of work, diversity, employee engagement and well-being, entrepreneurship, personnel recruiting and selection, research methods and social networks, teams and leadership and workplace relationships and work-family relationships. Faculty members have served as editors and associate editors of major journals including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, and Psychological Bulletin. Faculty members have won numerous research awards, are Fellows of The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and serve in leadership positions in various divisions of the Academy of Management. The department has also been recognized for research excellence and teaching effectiveness, with numerous collegiate and university awards.
