How will you leave an impact?

The Tippie College of Business National Impact Case Competition (NICC) challenges teams from around the world to apply business knowledge and tools to make a positive impact now and in the future. Students from all disciplines are invited to develop leadership and decision-making skills that will help them maximize how their actions impact the triple bottom line in their future jobs-- people, profits, and the planet

What is the National Impact Case Competition (NICC)?

The NICC is a chance for undergraduate-level students from across the country to solve real-world problems related to innovation, sustainability, and economic viability.

For this competition, teams of four undergraduate students will have two weeks to perform an analysis of a real-world case before presenting recommendations and actions to a panel of industry, corporate, and academic judges during the two-days at the University of Iowa.

In a time when economic, social, and environmental impact are pressing issues, this is the perfect opportunity for students to develop knowledge base and skill sets that employers are looking for. Additionally, corporate partners have the opportunity to meet talented students by judging the case competition, presenting workshops, and networking opportunities.

“Challenges like this case competition are so valuable because they allow students to see real-world problems and come up with innovative solutions. It is essential for students to be able to apply knowledge learned to difficult problems in a professional setting.“
