There’s no denying the strength of the Tippie Department of Accounting. Named one of the Top 50 undergraduate accounting programs by U.S. News & World Report, the department boasts the highest CPA pass rate in the state of Iowa and the 13th highest pass rate in the U.S. With PhD alumni teaching around the world, the impact of this department stretches far and wide.

Within the Department of Accounting, the RSM US LLP Institute of Accounting Education and Research is devoted to fostering excellence in accounting research. The institute sponsors the Sidney G. Winter Lecture Series and a national speaker series.  

The faculty within the department includes a roster of tenure-track faculty, experienced lecturers, and adjunct faculty from the corporate sector. Department research is highly regarded and frequently cited in journals and publications.
