The Department of Management Sciences at The University of Iowa invites applicants for one or more lecturer or visiting assistant professor positions teaching topics in business analytics and information systems in the undergraduate, Master’s, and MBA programs starting as early as January 12, 2017.  We seek candidates for full-time (8 courses per year) and part-time (4-7 courses per year).  Full- and part-time appointments provide a competitive benefits package including TIAA-CREF contributions.




The Department of Management Sciences offers undergraduate and doctoral programs in Business Analytics and Information Systems (BAIS) and a Graduate Certificate and Master’s programs in Business Analytics and a specialization in Analytics in the Fulltime MBA program. Courses in the graduate Business Analytics and Professional MBA programs are offered at remote sites including Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and the Quad Cities.  With these remote locations, in addition to applicants living in or willing to live in Iowa City, we encourage applications from those living or willing to live in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and the Quad Cities.

The Chair (Department Executive Officer) reports directly to the Dean of the College.  The Chair is a tenured full professor charged with providing strategic and operational leadership that promotes excellence in the faculty missions of research, education and service.  This charge includes working with faculty to develop the department’s vision and execute the department’s strategic plan.  The chair is also charged with providing leadership in the areas of faculty recruitment, development and retention, mentoring of junior faculty, overall quality improvement and budget management. 




The Chair works collaboratively with the Dean, Senior Associate Dean, faculty, program directors, and staff to advance education, scholarship, and service in a culture that promotes participation, collegiality, professionalism, and excellence.  The Chair assures delivery of effective curriculum, promotes research, and oversees service in a manner that meets program goals and supports the vision, mission and strategic plan of the department, college and university.  The Chair also serves as an important communication link between the department and other units of the college and university.

Job Duties:

The Salesforce Administrator will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the College to provide a design, configuration and support for the Tippie College of Business Salesforce instance. This instance will be used initially to provide enhanced customer relationship management capabilities but over time will be used more broadly across Tippie. Responsibilities include executing day-to-day configuration, testing, training, maintenance and general application support of the Salesforce platform. This position will address and solve critical business and functional problems and act as the primary technical expert by providing consulting and expertise to all Salesforce projects across the College.
