The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business’ Epsilon chapter of Delta Sigma Pi (DSP) recently received several national and regional awards.
The professional business fraternity is a coed organization meant to help students become a meaningful part of the Tippie Community, reach their fullest potential as a student as a future professional, and lead to lifelong friendships.
At the national level, Epsilon was honored for Outstanding Financial Operations for a Collegiate Chapter for their planning and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising program and for their excellence in financial management.
Regionally, they were honored as Outstanding Professional Activities for a Collegiate Chapter for their effective and comprehensive professional development program, and were honored with the R. Nelson Mitchell Outstanding Collegiate Chapter award. In addition, Tippie’s Brandelle Unkrich was named Regional District Director of the Year.
In addition to holding weekly meetings that strengthen their connections to each other and Tippie, DSP participates in community service projects in the Iowa City area, including Junior Achievement and the Ronald McDonald House. DSP also organizes professional trips, speakers, and offers an impressive alumni database of 2,000+ to advise and guide current members as they finish college and enter the workforce.
Tom Walsh, the Delta Sigma Pi chapter advisor at Tippie said, “To win numerous awards is a testament to the chapter’s overall excellence, to the seriousness with which the students approach the organization, and their efforts to drive the Epsilon chapter forward. It is terrific to see them recognized.”
