Jeff Chapman (BBA79), of Dallas, Texas, is one of the top mergers and acquisitions lawyers in the country. Chapman credits University of Iowa Henry B. Tippie College of Business professors Nancy Hauserman (JD76), Gerry Nordquist (MA56/PhD60), and Andy Policano for providing a strong foundation for his professional life.

“Iowa’s approach to education served me well where success—the ability to strike deals—turns not just on the ability to advocate your client’s position but also understand your counterparty’s perspective,” he says.

His experiences as an undergraduate are just one reason why Chapman and his wife, Kim Engman Cain Chapman, made arrangements to support the college through a bequest in their estate plans. The Chapmans’ gift qualifies them for the Tippie Society, which recognizes donors who make a significant impact on the college.

“We wanted to put our money where our hearts are,” says Chapman. “A big part of our hearts is in Iowa City—and always will be.”
