Frank Schmidt, emeritus professor of management & entrepreneurship at the Tippie College of Business and one of the University of Iowa’s most cited researchers, died suddenly of a heart attack on Saturday, Aug. 21.

The Tippie College of Business is merging its Online MBA and part-time Professional MBA programs, providing students with more options and greater flexibility as they pursue their education. This step is the latest example of Tippie’s continuing efforts to provide innovative graduate professional programs that best suit the needs of today’s students.

Stephen Courtright earned his PhD from the Tippie College of Business and returned in 2020 after eight years at Texas A&M University to become the Henry B. Tippie Research Professor of Management and Director of Executive Education.

Chad Van Iddekinge joined the Tippie College of Business from Florida State University in 2020 as the Henry B. Tippie Research Professor of Management. Van Iddekinge’s research focuses on how organizations make staffing decisions and how those decisions affect job applicants and the quality and diversity of a firm’s workforce.

Dave Ernst is the new executive director of strategic partnerships at the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business, where he will connect businesses and other organizations to resources in the college to help them grow.

Tippie Assistant Professor of Management & Entrepreneurship Semin Park was chosen for the best dissertation-based paper at the 2021 Academy of Management meeting. She currently serves as associate editor for Personnel Psychology.
