Earn your master's in just two more semesters

The numbers just make sense. If you’re an undergraduate student studying at the University of Iowa, you can earn an MSBA in addition to your BBA, BA, or BS through the Undergraduate to Graduate (U2G) program. It's a faster, smarter way to earn an advanced degree.

This program is open to all undergraduate majors at Iowa. No GMAT or GRE is required. Save on time, and tuition, and earn your Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) degree from the Tippie College of Business.

Save time

Count 14 credit hours of coursework towards both your graduate and undergraduate degrees. A blended year can knock a semester off your program, or free up time to develop deeper specialization in business analytics.

Save money

Save by paying the undergraduate tuition rate for the 14 hours of graduate coursework you'll complete in your final undergraduate year.

Get ahead

Launch your career with an in-demand degree that already sets you apart from peers who hit the job market with only their undergraduate degrees.

Program overview

Timing

Apply during your junior year. 80 s.h. of undergraduate work must be completed by the end of the semester of application, including at least 30 s.h. from the University of Iowa. A fall start date is required for the U2G program.

Admission requirements

GPA: At least a 3.25 GPA both overall and in University of Iowa classes. Must be currently enrolled in UI classes. The GMAT/GRE is not required.

Tuition

You’ll pay the undergraduate tuition rate in the U2G year and then one year of master’s tuition.

Program length

While the typical U2G option is two semesters in your last year of undergrad, some students may be able to devote just one semester to the U2G before receiving their undergraduate degree and becoming graduate students.

Credit hours required

40 s.h. total

Program structure and plan of study

When enrolled in the U2G program, 10 to 15 semester hours of graduate coursework will be completed in your final, blended year that will count toward both your undergraduate and your Master of Finance degrees. The remaining hours for your master's in business analytics will be taken the following year.
