Applying to the Full-time Master of Business Analytics Program

We enroll new students in the fall semester only, which begins in late August every year. Admission is competitive and there is limited capacity, so we recommend applying early. We make decisions on a rolling basis, meaning that we consider each application as it's completed rather than considering in large batches.

Fall 2020 application deadlines

  • Early application deadline: November 1, 2018
  • Priority deadline for merit-based awards: December 20, 2019
  • Final international deadline: March 31, 2020
  • Final domestic deadline: May 31, 2020
Application fee
  • Domestic applicants: $60
  • International applicants: $100

These information sessions, held on campus in Iowa City, are short-and-sweet presentations that cover both the Master of Business Analytics and the full-time Master of Finance program.

Minimum requirements

You must meet all of the below requirements to be considered for admission.

Bachelor’s degree

Earned from a regionally accredited college/university or equivalent from another country. We accept students from all undergraduate majors; a business degree is not required.

English proficiency: TOEFL/IELTS

International candidates only. Minimum TOEFL scores are 100 iBT, 600 CBT, and 7.0 IELTS with no sub-score below 6.0. Waivers available for those who qualify.

GMAT or GRE

Required for all applicants, and both are accepted on an equal basis. No minimum score.

GPA

Cumulative 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, or foreign equivalent.
