Thank you for your interest in joining the Young Alumni Board (YAB). The YAB is a group of recent graduates that strives to create a strong connection between the college and its alumni and to develop a network of mutually beneficial relationships for alumni, students, faculty, and staff.

Per the YAB Bylaws, members must meet the following requirements to be considered for the board.

  • Board members must hold an undergraduate degree from the Tippie College of Business (BBA).
  • A member's election to the board should take place no later than five years past their undergraduate graduation date. 
  • Board members must attend (in person or by phone) two board meetings per calendar year. Historically, fall meetings are held in Iowa City at the college.
  • Pledge a financial commitment to the college.

In order to join the board, you must complete the following application and be selected by the current YAB members. The YAB scores the quality of an applicant based on his or her application, cover letter, and resume relative to other applicants. The YAB consists of 30 total board members. This is a highly competitive process as there are limited spots available to fill.

The YAB will host TWO information sessions to provide insight into the application process and answer questions. Information session dates:

  • Thursday, Feb. 16, 2022 at XXX p.m. CST
  • Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2022 at XXX p.m. CST
