Scholarships and financial assistance

The Master of Business Analytics program does not offer full tuition funding. All applicants must be prepared to fully self-fund the program.

Scholarships for Domestic Students

A limited number of $15,000 scholarship aid packages are available for high merit students. Strong preference is given to the following:

  • Applicants with 12 months or more of post-graduate work experience
  • A quantitative background
  • Computer programming experience
  • GMAT (or GRE equivalent) score of 600 or higher
  • GPA of 3.50 or higher

Scholarships for International Students

The Tippie College of Business awards a very limited number of scholarship aid packages to international students. Competition for these scholarships is fierce; applicants will be considered for all aid packages for which they are eligible.

Apply by the priority deadline of December 15 to be eligible for one of the funding packages. No additional scholarship application is necessary. Later applicants will be considered for scholarships if funds are available.

We encourage applicants to apply for both scholarships and grants for STEM-based graduate programs to help offset the cost of tuition. Specific scholarships and funding assistance may be available through private businesses, current employers, local, state and federal government programs, professional organizations, endowed foundations, and other organizations.

Teaching Assistantships

Being a TA at Tippie is more than grading papers—you actually teach analytics to undergraduates. We’ll provide you with the training you need to be an effective instructor, and the immersive experience teaching, communicating, and presenting concepts will serve you in good stead throughout your career. Being a TA also pays off in dollars and cents. You’ll receive a $9k scholarship, plus tuition discounted to the Iowa resident rate if you’re a non-resident. Depending on your responsibility level, you’ll also receive an annual salary between $10,000 to $20,000. Plus, as an employee of the university, you’ll get stellar health insurance at a deep discount.

A limited number of teaching assistantships are available as determined by department need. Apply by the priority deadline of December 15 if you’d like to be considered for a TA position.

Payment options and payment plans

There are several ways to pay your tuition bill, from automatic deduction to paying in installments. See all the options on the University Billing Office website.
