Professional MBA tuition & fees

Tuition for Professional MBA courses is $665 per semester hour or $1,995 per course. The rate is the same whether you are an Iowa resident or a nonresident.

Tuition is reviewed annually and is subject to change.

Fees

Professional MBA students pay one university fee, a one-time Records and Documents fee. The fee is $225 for full admission students and $75 for PreMBA students. If you're a University of Iowa graduate, you get to skip this fee. See fee details.

Paying for your MBA

Most students get some portion of tuition reimbursed by their employer, but self-funded students are common, too. Other options for paying for your MBA include federal financial aid (federal loans are not available for PreMBA students) and private loans.

Employer assistance and deferred billing

Most employers that reimburse for MBA courses provide reimbursement when the class is complete and/or when you show proof of your grade. We’ve set up a program that allows you to defer payment of your tuition bill until the end of the semester. See details.

Veteran benefits

As a military veteran or active-duty service member, you’re entitled to paying zero application fee and having your GMAT or GRE cost reimbursed by the V.A. (requires GI Bill eligibility).

If you intend to use veteran’s education benefits, you can get assistance through the Office of GI Bill Services at 319-335-3895 or by email at registrar-vets-office@uiowa.edu.

Federal & private loans

U.S. citizens and permanent residents can usually get federal assistance through the University of Iowa Office of Student Financial Aid. If you plan to go this route, you’ll want to complete the Federal Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) well in advance of starting classes.

MBA students also have access to a growing number of private loans. Contact your bank and research your options; terms and conditions for these programs vary.

Payment options and payment plans

In addition to the deferred option described above, there are several ways to pay your tuition bill, from automatic deduction to installments. See all the options on the University Billing Office website.
