Robert B. Walker
Introduction
Bob Walker serves as Associate Professor of Instruction for the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, Management and Entrepreneurship Department, Tippie College of Business. He is an active entrepreneur as co-founder and CFO of Walker Homestead Farm and Winery, an 85 acre working farm, winery and events center. His areas of expertise are experiential learning, rural entrepreneurship, agritourism and entrepreneurship in developing countries and emerging markets. He has led students for short-term study abroad experiences to Belize, China, Denmark, Dominican Republic and India.
He has 25 years of experience in higher education as Associate Professor and Degree Coordinator with Kirkwood Community College, Associate Professor and Department Chair at Mount Mercy University and Associate Professor of Instruction at the University of Iowa. Bob has been active in the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) serving on the Board of Commissioners and conducted many site accreditation visits. Bob currently serves as faculty advisor for Sigma Nu Tau, Iowa's Entrepreneurial Honor Society and Moneythink. He has served as faculty advisor for I-Envision, SIFE/Enactus, and the Disney College Internship Program.
Bob has 17 years of experience in the banking industry, running his own consulting practice and involvement in small business startups. He and his wife co-authored the college textbook “Personal Finance: Building Your Future” with McGraw-Hill, which is in its second edition. Bob earned a Bachelor's degree from Miami University, MBA from the University of Iowa and PhD from Iowa State University.
