The Tippie College of Business undergraduate program is ranked 21st among public business schools in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges report, placing it among the top business schools in the country. 

Overall, Tippie placed 32nd in the news magazine’s annual ranking, putting the college among the top 8 percent of all U.S. business schools. It’s also the highest ranked business school in Iowa.

Individual Tippie department rankings were also reported as follows:

Accounting: 24th public, 58th overall

Business Analytics: 15th public, 38th overall

Economics: 27th public, 62nd overall

Risk Management and Insurance: 7th public, 9th overall

The University of Iowa was ranked as the number one public university in the Writing in the Disciplines category, aided in part by Tippie’s Frank Business Communication Center. The center teaches business students how to strengthen their writing and overall business communication skills.
