The Princeton Review has ranked the Tippie College of Business’ Iowa MBA among the top online programs in the country for 2025, placing it 6th among all programs and 4th among public universities.

Those positions are up from the most recent ranking in 2023, when the Iowa MBA ranked 16th overall and 9th among public universities.

The test preparation and tutoring organization ranking of the top 50 online MBA programs was determined by analyzing data provided by more than 54,000 institution administrators and current students. Developed with the assistance of an advisory board, the surveys ask students to judge the quality of the overall program, academics, fellow students, technology, career services, and immersion programs.

Tippie College of Business Dean Amy Kristof-Brown said the ranking affirms that students are drawn to the combination of affordability, convenience, and flexibility offered through the Iowa MBA. The program also delivers cutting edge academics that allow students to customize their degree with concentrations in such fields as AI and technology management, leadership, and business analytics.

“This recognition is a testament to the reputation we’ve built as a leader in online business education,” Kristof-Brown said. “Students have spoken and they’re telling us loud and clear that instruction from world-class faculty, engagement with professionals in other markets, and advancement in their careers are top priorities. The Iowa MBA offers all that, plus a personal touch of one-on-one advising and a robust portfolio of career services that sets us apart.”

The program benefits students and employers alike. Of graduates in the 2023 and 2024 classes, 56 percent reported a change in job level and the average salary increase was 30% within four months of graduation.

The Iowa MBA has students from 48 states, with 64% coming from Iowa. It’s also ranked among the top online programs by U.S. News & World Report, Fortune, and Poets & Quants. It’s the only program based in Iowa in The Princeton Review rankings.
