The Princeton Review has ranked the Tippie College of Business’ Iowa MBA among the nation’s best online programs, placing it 5th overall and 4th among public universities.

The program moved up from 6th place in last year’s rankings.

The test preparation and tutoring organization ranking was determined by analyzing data from surveys of administrators at 194 business schools offering online MBAs and of more than 13,360 students enrolled in the schools' online MBA programs. Editors weighed more than 60 data points in the school selection and ranking process.

Tippie College of Business Dean Amy Kristof-Brown said the ranking is further evidence that the Iowa MBA continues to resonate with working professionals by delivering a top-tier business education that fits busy lives. The program pairs flexibility and affordability with innovative coursework and specialized pathways in AI and technology management, leadership, and business analytics.

“This recognition reinforces the strength of what we've built through the Iowa MBA,” Kristof-Brown said. “Students want a rigorous education, a strong professional network, and tangible career outcomes. The Iowa MBA delivers on those expectations while offering the personalized guidance and career development resources that continue to set us apart.”

The program benefits students and employers alike. Of graduates in the 2024 and 2025 classes, 57 percent reported a change in job level, and the average salary increase was 34% within four months of graduation.

It’s also ranked among the top online programs by U.S. News & World ReportFortune, and Poets & Quants. It’s the only program based in Iowa in The Princeton Review rankings.
