For the second year in a row, a student team from the Tippie College of Business placed third at the National Diversity Case Competition hosted by the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

October is here and brings with it numerous celebrations to highlight the value of diversity to our community. Continuing our Tippie DEI committee’s mission to foster diversity, equity and inclusion, we highlight below a few of this month’s celebrations, along with an invitation to our first Tippie Monday Memoir of this academic year.

Even though we offer fewer classes in June, there are many diversity-related learning opportunities! June hosts the longest-standing day to recognize the end of slavery in the United States, Juneteenth, and national Pride month.

Yesterday, the Mayors of both Iowa City and Des Moines proclaimed May 18 to be Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Day Against Bullying. In addition, May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

You are invited to the final Monday Memoir of Spring 2021, an event celebrating the creation of Tippie’s first organization to support LGBTQ students – Reaching Out in Business (ROB). We are also using this event as the final Spring 2021 Diversity Committee resource summary.
