Economists majors make elite company

What do Warren Buffett and Ariana Huffington have in common? Elon Musk and Arnold Schwarzenegger? What about the founder of Walmart and the head of the AFL-CIO? They were all economics majors, as were presidents Ford, Reagan, and the first president Bush. With the analytical skills you’ll develop as a Tippie economics student, you’ll have the flexibility to start your career almost anywhere and take it wherever you want to go. You could be:

  • an account executive
  • a bank examiner
  • a commodities trader
  • an estate planner
  • a financial analyst
  • a foreign service officer
  • a journalist
  • a professor
  • a real estate developer
  • an urban planner

And, of course, there’s always football. Or showbiz. Bill Belichick, John Elway, Cate Blanchett, and Mick Jagger? Economics majors.
