Use this form to appeal your denial of admission to the BBA program in the Tippie College of Business. This form can be submitted only after you have been officially denied admission. 

  • Appeals for Fall 2025 admission without using summer grades can be submitted starting May 20th. Appeals must be received before 11:59 pm by June 10th. 
  • Appeals for Fall 2025 admission using summer grades can be submitted starting August 12th. Appeals must be received before 11:59 pm by August 19th. 

Letters of recommendation or references are not accepted. 

This can be found in your Admissions Profile in the MyUI student portal.
Residence requirement: 45 S.H. must be completed at the University of Iowa after admission to the Tippie College of Business.

Appeal Letter

Please upload a professional letter that:

  1. Details the factors which led to your becoming inadmissible to the BBA program in the Tippie College of Business;
  2. Outlines the specific behaviors that will lead to your successful graduation if admitted to the BBA program in the Tippie College of Business; and
  3. Includes a detailed academic plan of study for your remaining time at the University of Iowa (please see below for instructions on submitting your academic plan).

Students should avoid using ChatGPT or other services to write letter. Your letter should be addressed to the Admissions Committee.

Academic Plan

Submit an academic plan outlining your remaining semesters left to complete your Tippie Degree.

  • Please refer to MyPlan in My UI used in Pre-Admission Requirement (PAR) form.
  • You can also run a “what-if” degree audit for your intended major and refer to our major sheets to assist with course sequencing and planning.
  • In your academic plan, please be sure to include course numbers and titles of your courses in each semester.

You will be notified of the outcome of your appeal within 10 business days from the date the appeal was submitted. Notification will be sent only to your University of Iowa email address.
