Get started—apply now
The process is quick and easy, with just a few additional steps for international applicants.
You can start your Part-time Business Analytics application at any time. If you can't finish in one fell swoop, that's ok. You’ll create a login at the very start so you can come back later without losing your progress.
Before we can consider you for admission, you’ll need to submit the items that apply from the list below:
- Resume
- Transcripts
- Statement of purpose
- Proof of English proficiency (international applicants only)
- Payment method for the application fee
- Optional: Official GMAT or GRE score report
Application fee
- Domestic applicants: $60
- International applicants: $100
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards. Application fees are non-refundable and can be paid by credit card only.
Statement of purpose
Take this opportunity to standout in the application process. Your essay should include more information about your academic and professional goals and give us a sense of who you are and why you're interested in this program. Minimum of 250 words with a limit of 500 words. You can copy/paste or upload a PDF, DOC, or DOCX file when you submit your application.
Resume
Submit your resume in the online application. You should have at least 18 months of full-time, post-undergrad professional work experience before you start classes. Work experience earned after receiving your undergraduate degree can be counted toward that 18-month number. If you are a non-traditional student, we can consider professional work experience gained before your bachelor's. Tippie Career Services provides downloadable templates to help you craft your resume.
Transcripts
You can upload a copy of your transcript in the online application or request that your college/university send official copies to the University of Iowa directly. Instructions are in the online application.
Official GMAT or GRE score report
GMAT/GRE scores are optional. No score is required to apply, nor at any point during the program.
Scores can serve to strengthen your application and help you qualify for scholarship opportunities. If you choose to submit a score, upload a copy of your score report within the online application. This is sufficient for the application review.
International applicants
English proficiency
Most international candidates are eligible to waive the English proficiency test.
If any of these apply, answer 'Yes' to the ‘I meet the criteria for a waiver’ question in the online application, under the ‘TOEFL/IELTS Scores' section.
- You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- You have lived and worked in the U.S. for a substantial amount of time
If you do not meet the criteria for a waiver, visit the International Student Admissions page for minimum scores and where to send your score report.
